$5,000 grant to fund employees of the Natchitoches Parish School System or those that attended the free Praxis Workshops at Northwestern StateUniversity to take thePraxis Test to become certified. Approximately 34people were awarded vouchers to take tests they needed to become certified.
$1000.00 Community Programs of the City of Natchitoches toward the sponsorship of Art Adventure Camp.
$9351.92 to Natchitoches Jr. High Frankie Ray Jackson Journalism Club for purchasing audio/video equipment.
$7000.00 to Natchitoches D.A. Community Assistance Foundation to fund the foundation’s Second-chance, Fresh Start, Job Skills and Pre-trial Intervention.
$9648.08 to Ben D. Johnson Educational Center for employability training program.
$5000.00 to Boys and Girls Club of El Camino Real to purchase iPads for youth training in the area of Computer Technology.
$6000.00 ($1000.00 each to six college bound high school seniors) scholarships awarded.
$2000.00 to “Reading Is First” L.P. Vaughn Elementary School for an after school reading program.
$8000.00 to Dreams Scholarship Fund, Inc. for Boys to Men---Girls to Ladies Program Launch.
$1000.00 to Natchitoches Coalition on Homelessness to complete space for outreach program.
$1000.00 to L.P. Vaughn School of Fine Arts to provide fine arts education for impoverished children.
$6000.00 to Boys and Girls Club of El Camino Real to expand existing program.
$2000.00 to First Baptist Church Amulet Street to expand their existing program.
$6000.00 (six $1000.00 each to six college bound high school seniors) scholarships awarded.
$250.00 The City of Natchitoches Recreation Department; stipend for a teen-leader at the summer day camp program.
$5000.00 to Council on Aging to equip a computer lab at the center.
$5000.00 to Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. toward the cost of transporting at risk students 8th-12th grade student son a tour of 7 colleges/universities.
$14,000.00 (fourteen $1000.00 each to 14 college bound high school seniors) scholarships awarded.
